Hi, I'm Valeria Duka!
I’m an illustrator and visual artist, born in Ukraine, raised in Spain, and currently living in Asia.
I don’t like to define my style—but I can tell you what draws me in.
I love the quiet elegance of Art Deco, the rhythm of Asian architecture, and the softness of old hand-colored engravings. I can spend hours observing plants—collecting them, pressing them, scanning them, and then playing with their shapes and textures on my screen. Black and white is often where I begin—and sometimes, where I choose to stay.
I studied Fine Arts with a focus on Artistic Printmaking, a foundation that still shapes my lines and sensibility.
Over the years, I’ve illustrated books on personal development, neuroscience, and academic research, collaborating with publishers like Peter Lang, Cuadranta, and De Gruyter Brill. I also take on private commissions and artistic collaborations.
Each project speaks its own language—and I listen. Some call for ink and paper, others for digital layers in Procreate, or support from tools like Photoshop or Illustrator. In a world shaped by AI and constant change, I believe flexibility is essential. I don’t stick to one way—I bring a full toolkit to meet each story where it needs to be told.
If something in my work or technique resonates with you, feel free to reach out—I'd love to hear from you.
